The one star i have given is purely for a fair deal i have from this company. I saw a car they had advertised on auto trader. We agreed on the price, and three months warranty, as well as a weeks insurance.Going to the ttrain station, and then to Middlesbrough from Manchester, took me about 3.5 hours. One of the staff picked me up in the Merc I was going to purchase, and we drove back to the garage. It was a Saturday afternoon, about 3.00, and Lee, the owner, seemed to be on his own.He said a quick hello while passing. He called me into his office by a wave of a hand. His manners throughout was shocking. He never smiled, never got up to greet me, shake hands, or offer me a drink. I feel more welcomed when i go to the corner shop for a Mars bar.He began to do things on the computer. He spent half of that time chatting on his mobile while doing so. My impression was that he was not happy with his job at all.I began reading the HP papers and used my card for payments.Again, after a very cold seeing off i set off towards Manchester. When i opened the pack i had, it contained only my HP papers. I had no insurance papers, nothing to show he had taxed the car, or had any warranties!!I checked on the net, but nothing was registered. I rang Lee the following day. He couldn't remember if he had taxed the car, the insurance was on the company's policy, and the warranty he said he would send me.An hour later i had an email from him confirming that i had three months standard warranty with them!I was fuming. That meant if anything went wrong, i had to drive the car to them to get it fixed!!! I wrote back and said that thats impossible. I change my car every year or so, and always get a certificate that any garage accepts. How could i travel three hours each way to get my car repaired??!! If it had to be carrird, or towed, who would pay for that part? The reply was that i can buy an insurance if im not happy! I wrote back and said in the time of internet, you buy car from anywhere. My last one was from Belfast. How can you offer a three months insurance which is a back to base one?!! He wrote back, saying that i have a faultless car, and asked me why i was being so fussy?!!I contacted santander, who had done the finance, but as they had not done the finance for the warranty, they took 10 days to tell me they cant do anything.I like the car i bought, but dealing with Lee was a very bad/sad experience. Customer care and service just did not exist. So unless you live in Middlesbrough, or are prepared to purchase a warranty, i strongly advise you to make this point absolutely clear. No dealer should sell a car without a warranty, or aske you to potentially take a day or two off, to drop the car, and pick it up another day, should any more major faults come up.
Very good service
I bought my bmw330d coupe from riverside car sales one year ago next week, hasn't missed a beat in that time and sailed through its mot,was the best priced 330 anywhere and i would definitely recommend to anyone .
